Giving "Thanks" to Tech Blog

So many technology products and features have become staples in our daily lives, that oftentimes we forget just how much we appreciate the little (or the big) things that help to make each day more enjoyable and convenient. Being that it is the eve of Thanksgiving, we thought we'd catch a few of our employees to find out what technology they are the most thankful for this year.     "I am not a gamer. I have been without a TV for four years (changing this Christmas!), and I don’t miss the microwave; nope, I don’t have one of those either. However, I use my pocket sized personal computer inadequately referred to as a phone many times a day: to check email, to snap photos and text to friends, to check-off my grocery list, to jam out, and even to wake me up in the morning.

Home Automation for Gamers: 6 Tips to Create an Immersive Gaming Session Blog

Do you love gaming but feel like something is missing? With these six home automation tips, you can boost the mood of your gaming session and take it to the next level. 1.   Smart (and Colorful) Lighting Arguably the most immersive way to combine home automation with gaming is smart lighting, as it offers the key to enhancing the environment of your gaming room. With Control4, one touch of a button on a keypad can dramatically change a once brightly-lit room into a more comfortable, lounge-like ambiance for your gaming session. Perhaps you want blue accent lighting behind the screens, purple hues to highlight the walls, and the ability for all of your lights to flash on-and-off when the doorbell rings so you don’t miss the pizza delivery.

EU 2-Way Lighting Professional Wiring Guide Document

1 Square Wireless LightingWiring Guide for EU Two-way SwitchingTwo-way switched circuits can be wired in dozens of ways. This document explains some of the most common wiring methods, illustrated with EU standard wiring colors.OverviewGenerally, you will use a dimmer (or switch, if there’s a neutral) to control the light, and a wireless keypad in each of the additional locations. The idea is to wire the dimmer/switch to the light, and then use the existing wires going between the two switch locations to get power to the keypad. Without a neutral, the load and neutral connections get jumpered on the dimmer, because the neutral wire is connected to the load. The rst two scenarios have a neutral in at least one of the wallboxes.

VOICE: THE NEWEST INTERFACE FOR YOUR SMART HOME Blog

Utilizing one type of interface to control your home is not always ideal. You may want a handheld, tactile remote to enjoy your video experience in the living room, a touch screen with a large display in the kitchen to browse and play music throughout the home, a keypad next to the garage door that allows you to shut the entire house down with one touch as you head out, and a smartphone or a watch on your wrist to offer insight to what is going on at home while you’re away.   In a Control4 Smart Home, interfaces are designed to deliver the most beautiful and intuitive interactions, with immediate access from wherever you might be in (or out of) your home—and with a consistent look and feel across all devices.

4 WAYS VIRTUAL REALITY HAS RESHAPED MARKETING REAL ESTATE Blog

This guest post comes to us from Stewart Dunlop of Paperless Pipeline. Virtual reality (or VR) is the use of technology to create a three-dimensional image or environment that can be interacted with. VR gives users a simulated experience that can be similar to or completely different from the real world.   Virtual reality has been “the next big thing in tech” for quite a while now and is making waves in real estate, thanks to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.   People interested in buying a home no longer need to travel for miles to visit the property since they can now visit the property virtually.

Day of Caring Blog

There are probably a lot of things you may not know about Control4. And some you may not care about, like the fact that our ice machines cannot keep up with demand. We like our drinks COLD. One of the coolest things about this company is its quiet contribution to the communities around us. In addition to encouraging our team to take a day off work in April to support Habitat for Humanity, numerous fund-raising activities like motorcycle rides and bake sales, we were also urged to participate in the Salt Lake United Way Day of Caring on Thursday, September 13th. Over 3,855 volunteers participated in United Way of Salt Lake's 20th Annual Day of Caring.
