One Year Later Montage Deer Valley Expands Automation Offerings, Welcomes Control4 into Residences

After a year of hospitality success, Park City’s Montage Deer Valley establishes Control4 as a standard, making the automation system available within the community’s new residential units

Salt Lake City, UT – August 15, 2012 – Control4, a leading innovator in residential and light commercial automation systems, announced today that the newly built, luxury Montage Deer Valley Residences will feature Control4 smart home solutions.

In April of 2011, Montage Deer Valley unveiled the Control4® hospitality solution in a total of 154 deluxe guest rooms and 66 suites within the resort. Control4 implementation within the Montage Deer Valley resort includes automation of lighting and temperature, fireplace control, effortless entertainment, remote controlled privacy settings and energy saving features – all easily customizable to enhance the guest experience.

"I remember talking to a guest and they said 'I want the TV to turn to Fox News at 6:00 a.m. and I want the fireplace to come on, the lights to adjust to this setting and the thermostat to reach 72 degrees,'" said David Mars, Montage Deer Valley Resort Manger. "And at 6:00 a.m., the whole thing happened. He said it was magnificent. So I think that's a testament to how easy this is to utilize, right there in your own hotel room."

Overall, the Control4 hospitality solution offers an excellent balance for both guests and resort management by providing in-room automation services for the guest's enjoyment and convenience, combined with an integrated energy management tool that has promoted better business practices and helped to streamline operations.

"What's really nice about this system from a hotelier's perspective is that it allows us to minimize our carbon footprint," added Mars. "When a guest checks out, it immediately tells the room to turn all the lights off and it takes the thermostat to a temperature that minimizes the amount of energy. In hotels past, when people brought up connectivity and automation in a room, it was because it didn't work or it was too challenging or frustrating. We never hear that from our guests. That's a big benefit of Control4."
