Control4 Recognized with Multiple Honors by the Utah Technology Industry

Awards for 4Store and Energy Management products; Alison Nielson Named HR Executive of the Year; Dan Strong Recognized Among State’s Top CFO’s

SALT LAKE CITY, June 25, 2010 – Control4, a leader in IP-based home control systems, today announced recognition in several areas of achievement awarded by the Utah technology industry. Control4 received the 2010 Utah Technology Council (UTC) Innovations Award for Consumer Software for the 4Store™ and a 2010 UTC Innovations Award honorable mention for Clean Technology and Energy for the Control4® Energy Management System 100 (EMS 100). The UTC also named Alison Nielson, Director of Human Resources for Control4, HR Executive of the Year. Additionally, Utah Business Magazine recognized Control4 executive Dan Strong as CFO of the Year in the large private company category.

The 4Store is an online marketplace where consumers can access applications that will extend the functionality and interconnectivity of Control4® smart homes and enable new levels of customization for homeowners. The EMS 100 is a platform designed to connect to the Smart Grid and to empower consumers and utilities to better manage energy use and costs.

“We are honored to receive the Utah Innovations Award for the 4Store and pride ourselves in not only building more affordable home control solutions, but adding new value with a unique way for homeowners to personalize and utilize their Control4® systems,” said Will West, CEO of Control4.

The UTC is Utah’s premier professional association for life science, high-tech and clean-tech companies. The Utah Innovations Awards recognize innovations and the Utah companies that created them. A committee of 70 experts from Utah’s private industry, government and academic communities voted on winners in each of the program’s eight categories.

In addition to UTC Innovations Award achievements, Alison Nielson, Director of Human Resources for Control4, has been named the UTC’s HR Executive of the Year. Nielson has achieved excellence through her ardent support of the UTC’s HR Executive Peer-to-Peer Forum for the last four years.

“Control4 takes pride in fostering the best of the best talent, while cultivating a dynamic, fast paced, and exciting environment,” said Alison Nielson, Director of Human Resources, Control4. “I’m honored to be named the Utah Technology Council HR Executive of the Year and eager to continue building our team as well as assisting other companies in the Utah Technology Council.”

Dan Strong was also honored by Utah Business Magazine as CFO of the Year in the large private company category. In a time of struggling national and local economies, today's CFO plays an increasingly vital role in securing a corporation's future. Each year, Utah Business Magazine recognizes excellence in leadership for CFO’s that go above and beyond to ensure their company’s short-term and long-term success.

“Control4 continues to find new market opportunities as the platform for the digital home, despite very challenging economic conditions,” said Dan Strong, Chief Financial Officer, Control4. “It is an honor to be recognized as a Utah Business Magazine CFO of the Year.”
