Control4, Yacht Master Control and Dometic Group Bring Home Automation to the Yachting Industry
Yacht Master Control adds Marine Air and Cruisair climate control to Control4 system, for complete onboard automation
FORT LAUDERDALE INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW – October 29, 2009 – Control4®, the leader in affordable IP-based home control systems, and Yacht Master Control, today announced the availability of the Control4 Certified Yacht Master Control integration for Dometic Group’s world-leading Marine Air and Cruisair climate controls. The solution brings complete automation to the luxury yacht and pleasure boat industry.
The exclusive Yacht Master Control interface for Dometic allows a Control4 system to manage a vessel’s onboard Marine Air or Cruisair climate controls. With the Control4 solution, owners can also adjust lighting, view security cameras, access navigation equipment, make service requests for staff and control audio and video equipment onboard.
“Control4 is pleased to provide automation technology to serve boat enthusiasts’ needs by making their experience on the water more personal, comfortable and fun,” said Jim Arnold, vice president of sales for Control4. “The functionality of the Yacht Master Control solution offers top-notch, easy-to-manage control over all of a watercraft’s amenities, maximizing luxury for the pleasure-boating lifestyle.”
The feature-rich Control4 automation system is scalable to add increased functionality over time and, combined with Yacht Master Control, it also enhances safety and comfort by providing more efficient energy management onboard. Example features include:
• Remotely controlling lights and heating or air conditioning to turn on shortly before arrival, ensuring everything on the vessel is set to preference yet reducing energy consumption
• Automating exterior running lights to allow the crew to move around safely
• Adjusting the thermostat to ensure appropriate interior cabin temperatures
• Providing GPS and navigation data through the television or touch screens so owners and onboard guests know the current location of the vessel and anticipated arrival
• Triggering lights to automatically turn on, off or dim, based on detected light levels or specific times of the day
• Opening and closing blinds, according to when the sun sets or the skies become cloudy to allow for optimum levels of natural light
• Centralizing audio and video collections from multiple sources and allowing selection of music or movies by cover art from a single library from any room on the vessel
“Through our worldwide exclusive agreement with Dometic, we have developed a solution that integrates the two leading HVAC products with the Control4 automation system,” said Gerald Berton, founder of Yacht Master Control. “The result is a luxury yacht automation solution that can be seamlessly integrated with nearly any existing technology, to enhance the lifestyle of our customers while they enjoy the sea.”
“The state-of-the-art system from Control4 and Yacht Master Control will provide an important enhancement to our product portfolio,” said Frank Marciano, president of Dometic Marine. “We are pleased to be able to offer this advanced automation solution to our customers.”
The Control4 and Yacht Master Control solution will be demonstrated at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, Oct. 29 – Nov. 1, 2009 in the Superyacht Builders Tent, Face Dock 610 and at 17 kiosks throughout the event.
