Control4 Named as CES 2016 Innovation Awards Honoree

4K UHD A/V Distribution Switch honored for innovative design and engineering

New York, NY, November 11th, 2015Control4 Corporation (NASDAQ: CTRL), a leading global provider of smart home solutions, today announced that it has been named a CES 2016 Innovation Awards Honoree for its 10 source, 10 zone 4K UHD Video Distribution Switch featuring HDCP 2.2 compliance. Products entered in this prestigious program are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers and members of the trade media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products across 27 product categories. Entries are evaluated on their engineering, aesthetic and design qualities, intended use/function, user value, and comparison to other products in the marketplace.
The new line of Control4 4K UHD Matrix Switches provides the ability to distribute 4K content, including copy-protected content, to every room in the Control4 Smart Home without the need for additional hardware or software. All Control4 4K UHD Matrix Switches are HDCP 2.2 compliant, meeting the standards set by content creators for copy protection. This ensures that Control4 customers do not receive the black screen produced by non-compliant systems trying to play copy-protected content.
“Products that are selected as CES Innovation Honorees demonstrate an incredible level of design and engineering in a field where the bar is set extremely high,” said Martin Plaehn, Control4 Chairman and CEO. “We believe our 4K entertainment solutions exhibit this to the fullest, and we are proud to have that fact validated by a preeminent authority on the subject.”
The prestigious CES Innovation Awards are sponsored by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), the producer of CES 2016, the global gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technologies, and have been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976.
The Control4 10x10 4K UHD A/V Matrix Switch will be displayed at CES 2016 in the Innovation Awards Showcase within the Sands Expo at CES Tech West, which runs January 6-9, 2016, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
