Become a Product Partner
When adding a product to a Control4 system, a driver must be installed to communicate with the smart home. We work with manufacturers to develop and certify the driver to ensure optimal integration. We've certified thousands of drivers for products ranging from flat panel TVs, projectors and audio/video receivers, thermostats, heating and cooling systems, window shades, security cameras, and more.
Control4 Driver Development
Driver development is the first step to integrate your product with Control4. When a device or product is added to a Control4 system, a driver auto-installs to communicate information about that device to the system so everything works together. We provide partners with a variety of tools, including SDKs, that enable the quick creation of these device drivers.
Control4 Certification
Once drivers for our partners' products are developed, we work with them to test their products to ensure they work as seamlessly as possible. Once testing is complete these products are deemed “Control4 Certified” and are promoted to our integrators and customers as the products to use with Control4 systems.
Simple Device Discovery Protocol
Control4® Simple Device Discovery Protocol (SDDP) is software that is built into a manufacturer's product to make integration with a Control4 system easy and seamless. With SDDP, the Control4 home automation system automatically finds and adds SDDP-enabled devices to the platform, dramatically reducing complexity and the installation time for Control4 integrators.
