- User wants to monitor the sounds in another room. In this case, the Control4 system must have at least two 5" or 7" In-Wall Touch Screens installed.
Prerequisites
- Ensure that the 5" In-Wall Touch Screen (C4-TSWMC5) or 7" In-Wall Touch Screen (C4-TSWMC7) is installed as directed in the Control4 5" and 7" In-Wall Touch Screen Installation Guide available on the Dealer Portal.
- Ensure that your project has a Control4 controller added and identified in the Control4 system.
To add and configure a 5" or 7" In-Wall Touch Screen:
- To add the driver and identify the device see “How to add devices to a project.” Ensure that the IE 5" Touch Screen or IE 7" Touch Screen driver is added to the project tree.
Note: If this touch screen will be providing audio output, the touch screen needs to be connected as an Audio End Point for the room.
- (Optional) To configure the properties, click System Design.
- In the project tree, select the IE 5" Touch Screen or IE 7" Touch Screen object.
- View and change the properties in the Properties pane as needed.
- Backlight Level—Use the up or down arrows to set the light level of the backlight. You can change the brightness of the backlight with this option by percentage, so 100% is On at full brightness and 0% is Off.
- Backlight Preset Level—Lets you set the default backlight level. If you ever restart or power the touch screen again, this is the backlight level it would go to. Click Set to save your changes.
- Button Animation Enabled—Lets you enable animated buttons for a 3D effect.
- Volume Control Follows Selected—Lets you select other rooms aside from the one that contains the touch screen, and change its volume when leaving the room.
- Conservative AEC (Acoustic Echo Cancellation)—When selected, this can reduce excessive feedback, squealing, or other audio interference during intercom use. This setting does not reduce feedback noise caused by two touch screens being too close to each other. Use this option if other measures (such as increasing intercom distances and reducing volume) have not sufficiently reduced feedback.
