Installing Composer HE software

Follow these steps to install your Control4 Composer HE software for the first time. If you are upgrading from a version earlier than OS 2.9.1, you must first upgrade to OS 2.9.1 to continue. Please refer to the specific version of this document for further information.

Note: An Internet connection is required to perform this installation.

Follow these general steps for existing systems:

  • Your dealer should purchase, install and activate the Home Edition license. The computer running Composer HE must be connected to the Internet, andyou must have a customer.control4.com account with a license to run Composer HE.
  • Install Composer HE 3.2.4.

To install the Composer Pro software:

  1. Obtain the Composer HE Installation software (available as web download from customer.control4.com).

    2. Note: Windows 7 or later and an Internet connection are required to perform this installation.

  1. Start the Composer HE installation, and follow the on-screen instructions.
  1. Select to update to the latest version of Composer.

    2. Tip: As new features and drivers become available, the Composer HE software and associated drivers can be updated.

  1. During the installation process, click Continue Anyway to allow the installation to proceed.
  1. The next screen asks for your account login and password. This assumes that you already have an account on customer.control4.com with a Composer HE license. If you don't have an account, contact your Control4 dealer.
