Develop Drivers for Control4
More than 200 hardware manufacturers have developed drivers that allow their products to interoperate with the Control4® automation system. When a device is added to the system, corresponding drivers are installed to communicate relevant information about that device to the other system components. The Control4® DriverWorks SDK, available free of charge from Control4, can be used to create two-way serial and network drivers for your third-party devices. Each driver is an XML file and uses a .c4i extension.
Control4 also offers the Control4® Certification Program as an option for development partners. Control4 Certification allows you to ensure interoperability and compatibility of your device within a Control4 automation system. Certifying your driver with Control4 provides these benefits:
- Your product will be promoted to dealers and customers as part of an exclusive list of high-quality Certified products.
- Dealers know the Control4 Certified product they select will provide a high degree of interoperability with Control4 components, be easier to install and result in fewer support calls.
