I've heard that Control4 can help me save energy but how?
The total control over your home's energy-consuming devices (lights, TVs, anything that gets plugged in, etc.) provided by Control4 allows you to more easily control how much energy is being used, by what, and when. For example, you can set your lights to come on at 90% instead of 100%, saving energy without sacrificing light or visibility. How do I know that my Control4 system won't be obsolete in a few years?
Control4 is standards-based (ZigBee, Wifi, Ethernet, etc.) meaning we leverage standards-based technologies that are here to stay. Plus, with drivers for thousands of partner products, you can rest assured that our operating system is tested, reliable and constantly evolving to control and integrate with new products and technologies.
Do I have to use my TV as the interface to select music, listen to the radio, control my lights, etc.?
No. Your TV interface is just one of a variety of interfaces you can use with your Control4 system. You can also use a System Remote Control to manage functions using on on-screen TV navigator, or a simplified list on the remote itself! You can also in-wall keypads, graphical Touch Screens that are portable, in-wall or sit on a table, nightstand or countertop. Control4 even has a Mobile Navigator so you can control the system from your iPhone or iPod Touch.
Can I watch different sources (TV, DVDs, etc.) on different TVs at the same time in my home using Control4?
Yes! Depending on the way you design your Control4 system you could watch a different source on every TV in your home.
Can I listen to different audio aources (CDs, MP3s, Radio, etc.) in different rooms in my home at the same time?
Absolutely. You can design your Control4 system to create a robust multi-room music solution making it convenient and easy to play different music in any or all rooms of the house. Of course, with Control4, you can also add other functionality to control lights, temperature and security with ease.
How many individual rooms does Control4 support?
The beauty of a Control4 system is its scalability. You can start small with one-room control and expand to whole-home or office control. Control4 solutions have been successfully installed in multi-room mansions. There is virtually no limit on the number of rooms you can control with a Control4 system.
How long is the warranty on Control4 products?
Most of the Control4 products have a two-year limited warranty, which is substantially longer than most of the home automation industry.
Can I use a Control4 remote or touch panel to control other rooms/systems from the room that I am in?
The short answer here is absolutely yes! With Control4, you can control every room in your house no matter which room you happen to be in. You can even control these rooms when you are away from home using the internet-based Control4 4sight service.
I need help with some quirks in my system, who should I call?
We recommend seeking the help of your Control4 Dealer. They should be able to provide the most hands-on support for you and your system. If you're having trouble with your dealer we want to know, so please contact our sales team (see the 'Contact Us' tab at the top) and they will assist you, either in getting in touch with your dealer or in finding a new one.
My house is fairly old but I am interested in getting a Control4 system. Is there a way to do this without remodeling my whole home?
Definitely. One of the unique features of Control4 is that it uses both wired and wireless technology, making it just as simple to install in older homes as it is to install in new homes.
I saw a Control4 system in a hotel recently. Can I get a similar system for my home?
Yes! Contact one of our authorized dealers and they will help you plan out a system that meets your needs and your budget.
Why are some of the icons on the display grayed out?
Features that are grayed out on your on-screen or touch screen interfaces are not currently setup on your Control4 system. Contact your Control4 Dealer to add cool new features and functions to your Control4 system!
