Richard Walker
President
Control4 Energy Systems

Richard serves as the president of the Control4 Energy Systems division. In this role he is responsible for the growth and management of the division, which is dedicated to bringing affordable energy management solutions to consumers, utilities, partners, and businesses.

Richard joined Control4 from Hewlett-Packard, where he led the company’s $6 billion consumer desktop business unit. During his tenure at Hewlett-Packard, Richard was responsible for a 15% growth, and he secured and maintained the company’s worldwide leadership position in the desktop market for the last four years.

Prior to Hewlett-Packard, Richard was with Pumatech, now a part of Nokia, where he served as the vice president marketing and general manager online services and was responsible for establishing the company’s online services business unit.

Richard holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in business from Sheffield & Hallam University in Sheffield, England.


Paul Nagel
VP of Strategic Development
Control4 Energy Systems

Paul Nagel is Vice President of Strategic Development at Control4, where he oversees the company's partnership and business development efforts. Paul brings more than 20 years of hardware and software product experience to his current position including development expertise in WAN/LAN and wireless WAN products, including the Palm VII, CDPD/Cellular PC cards, and VOIP LMR products. Paul holds eight patents in the area of communications.

Before Control4, Paul has held executive roles with other leading technology companies, including Compaq Computer, Megahertz / US Robotics, 3Com, emWare, and IPMobileNet.

Paul holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Utah.


Susan K. Cashen
VP, Marketing
Control4 Energy Systems

Susan Cashen runs marketing for Control4 Energy Systems, an operating division of Control4 that develops home area network solutions for utilities working to connect consumers to the smart grid.

A marketing veteran with over twenty years experience with consumer and technology brands, Susan brings expertise in developing compelling consumer experiences that drive product usage and engagement to Control4 Energy Systems. She has worked with companies large and small, from Xerox, MSNBC, and Adobe to TiVo, where as Vice President of Marketing, she was responsible for the consumer introduction of the first-ever digital video recorder. Under her leadership, Susan’s team helped make TiVo, back then an unknown entity, into a household brand name.

Prior to joining Control4, Susan was Vice President of Marketing for mobile start-up mywaves. Along with launching a global video service that won top honors at the Global Mobile Congress in its debut year, Susan negotiated content deals with such media companies as Sports Illustrated, MTV Networks, Fox, and CBS to deliver ad-supported programming to the mywaves user base.

She holds a B.A. in Russian studies from Hamilton College, Clinton, NY and lives with her husband and three children in the bay area.


Collin Breakstone
Director, Business Development
Control4 Energy Systems

Recognized as a pioneer in energy efficient systems integration, Collin serves as the Director of Business Development for Control4 Energy Systems. He has over 15 years experience in integrated feedback-driven control systems and has worked with hundreds of stakeholders on diverse projects ranging from off-grid residential developments to billion dollar MDUs. Collin was an early Eco-Act member, sits on industry panels including the USBGC, contributes to the CEA Energy Efficiency Work Group, and serves as co-chair of the CEDIA Green Action Council.

Prior to working with Control4, Collin was Vice President of a Silicon Valley energy efficiency start up Agilewaves, held executive positions at system integrators including UCI and HED, and founded a renewable energy systems integration company, NAV-Tech, in the Caribbean.

Collin studied environmental design at UC Colorado in Boulder and received his BS in political science and international business. He is a certified green building professional, a certified solar installation professional, and lives in San Francisco.


John Lin
Director of Sales
Control4 Energy Systems

John has more than 20 years of experience in developing go-to-market strategies and driving sales revenues for both start-ups and established businesses. Prior to joining Control4 Energy Systems as Director of Sales, John was General Manager of FIC’s Everex Division. In 2005, he led the re-launch of Everex brand back into US retail channel. John grew annual sales from zero to $64 million in 2 years and sold Everex computers into Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Circuit City, Sam’s Club, OfficeMax and other top PC resellers. Prior to that, he was VP of OEM sales for FIC of America and grew quarterly sales of desktop PCs from 100K to over 400K units, resulting in annual sales of over $200 million. John also served as Vice President of Sales for eCommunications, an FIC subsidiary focused on energy management solutions for residential and commercial environments

Before joining the FIC Group, John was Director of Business Development for the Acer Group where he set up and ran the PC industry’s first nationwide channel assembly program. Prior to returning to the US in 1997, John resided in Hong Kong for five years while managing China and Asia Pacific markets for Barmag AG, a world leading supplier of chemical fiber machinery.

John holds a B.A. degree in Economics from U.C. Berkeley.
